Anxiety Has Brought Me Down

(The Long and Winding Road)

I just can’t cross the road
Too many cracks in the floor
And germs never disappear

I wash my hands ‘til they’re red raw
I always leave checking
The locks on the door

You know, I just can’t stand the light
Need to turn it on one hundred times
It’s left me awaiting here
For the clock to chime
Why leave me standing here?
When my life is such a crime

My thoughts just go round and round
In an endless, anxious loop
Counting every step
Just trying to find some proof.

And still it wears me down
This anxiety this OCD
it left me standing here
A long, long time ago
Too many pavement cracks were here
I’m too far from your door

And still it wears me down
This anxiety this OCD
It left me standing here
A long, long time ago
Too many pavement cracks were here
I’m too far from your door

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
